Life, a dance of heart, mind, soul, body. . . .
Each one of us flows on this sacred river of our own particular destiny, our calling. We step into partnership with ourselves, others, and with life itself.
Expressing myself creatively has been a tool to take me deeper into this compact with life. Since my early teens, poetry has been a resonant and insightful source. I penned my first poem, a haiku in 1969 and have continued off and on since then. If you too are a poetry lover, please check out the POETRY page.
Post midlife, art exploded center stage for me. Color! Shape! Shadows! became fun toys that danced upon the blank canvas. My path took a wild turn into the nonverbal visual world. There was sooo much I’d never seen before. I share my journey in the visual arts on the ART page.
Yoga has been a part of my existence since 1970, when I took an after school yoga class at my Catholic High School in New Jersey. It’s been a touchstone for my marriage as both of us continue exploring what our bodies and minds can teach us about life, our relationship, and ourselves. If you’d like to learn more about yoga, meditation, relaxation, including home practice tips, click your way to Barefoot and Upside Down.
We need support for the full flowering of our potential. Through the practices of yoga, meditation, and deep relaxation, I believe you can align your heart more closely with your sacred center. This is the way to live a richer, deeper, happier, and healthier life. This is the way out of the dis-connect that has become a modern way of life.
If you feel a nudge to stretch deeper and release into a beautiful well of stillness, join one of our fun-loving classes. Here’s the schedule.
Hungry? Inspired to create a delicious something to eat for your loved ones? Folks in my family love to cook and I wanted to save their recipes. You can delve into the original RECIPES here.
I am excited to share with you the resources I’ve created to provide that bit of boost you might need for additional focus in-between classes: resources here.
As we learn to treat ourselves compassionately, with respect, love, and care, the toxicity that we have put up with for so many years becomes unbearable. We grow healthier, inside and out. Only then do we begin treating others with similar respect, care and compassion.
Won’t you release the physical tension that is holding you back and join this dance of the heart with me? I’d love to be your YOGA guide, advising your practice on the mat, and in your life. If you’d like to connect further, Dunkirk and Fredonia Yoga Center is on FB and google+.
